Another continental commitment has been added to the FIA EHRC season for Italian-Greek driver Andrea Farmakakis, who will be joined on the steering wheel by Fabio Salis, aboard the Drive the Legend Ford Escort MKII.
The Acropolis Rally in Greece has always been considered a major classic in the sport and deserves its place alongside other major rallies such as Monte Carlo, Safari, Portugal, Thousand Lakes, and Sanremo.
It will be two very tough days of competition for crews and cars, considering the rather bumpy dirt road surface of the Greek events and part of the straight-line route, which will once again bring the tradition of fast roadside services to the forefront from Athens to Itea.
Andrea Farmakakis: “I’m happy to return to home soil for the second consecutive year in one of the most exciting races of the entire European championship.
To achieve a good result, it will be crucial to bring the car to the finish line while managing the mechanics and protecting the car on a very challenging course. In this race, I’ll be back with Fabio Salis, whom I previously shared the cockpit with at the Rally della Costa Smeralda in Sardinia. Furthermore, with careful race management, we could score maximum points in the 3B class, which would see us propel ourselves into the podium positions in the European standings.”
The race can be followed through the championship’s official social media channels and those of Drive the Legends on Facebook and Instagram.
In September, Drive the Legend will not only participate in the Acropolis Rally but also in the Elba Rally in Italy, which also counts towards the European Historic Rally Championship, as well as building the first Ford Escort MKII Group 4.
