Simone Campedelli’s team continues its journey in the continental
championship with the Ford Escort MKII
Four months after the conclusion of the 2024 season – which saw the team take part in the Acropolis Rally in Greece with Andrea Farmakakis and Giovanni Bernacchini, and the Madeira Rally Legend with Simone
Campedelli and Tania Canton – it’s time to get back behind the wheel.
The 2025 season officially begins this weekend for DRIVE THE LEGEND, with the team’s participation in the Rally Costa Brava, the opening round of the FIA European Historic Rally Championship.
The team lines up with the crew Farmakakis – Bernacchini on the demanding stages around Girona, Spain, competing in an international field of over 250 entrants. The rally kicks off Thursday night with an opening stage under the lights, followed by 12 more special stages across Friday and Saturday.
In 2025, DRIVE THE LEGEND will take part in five key FIA EHRC events:
Costa Brava, Antibes, Acropolis, Elba, and Fafe. The Ford Escort MKII returns to the stages, updated with numerous technical enhancements and presented in a brand-new livery designed in collaboration with Perillo
S.p.A., the team’s main sponsor now in its third consecutive year of support.
This partnership with Perillo S.p.A. also reflects a shared commitment to sustainability.
The team’s 2025 motto – DRIVE THE LEGEND GOES GREEN – marks the start of a journey combining motorsport, tradition, and environmental responsibility. Starting this season, the team will use carbon-free synthetic fuel, part of a broader initiative that also promotes inclusion and gender equality.
Supporting the new season is also a new partner: SAFE NETWORK, a dynamic company that enthusiastically joins the team’s sporting and value-driven journey.
Driver Andrea Farmakakis, ahead of Costa Brava, commented:
“I’m excited to begin this new 2025 adventure in such a prestigious championship. It’s truly great fun to be part of the European historic scene with a professional team that allows me to focus entirely on driving. The weather forecast calls for rain, but I’m sure we’ll have plenty of fun!”
Team Manager Angelo Campedelli added:
“Leading this project is something I truly enjoy, and we’re competing in events that have written some of the most important chapters in international rally history.
Our goal is to provide our clients with high-quality cars and five-star logistics, and that’s only possible thanks to a group of people who work with dedication and passion every single day of the year.
We are also working to bring another ‘Drive The Legend’ crew alongside us for this second season.”
